Official Job Description: The Treasurer shall receive and disburse funds of the organization, prepare a financial report for each regular meeting of the organization, and file such public disclosure reports as required by state law. (Article VII, Section 2h of Bylaws).
Additional Responsibilities: The Treasurer shall check regularly (at least once a week) the PO box in lower Queen Anne and process receipts and expenses. The Treasurer shall draft a reimbursement form to be required for all requested reimbursements. The Treasurer shall make copies of all deposits and expenses in the case of an audit and shall prepare a financial report to the district and shall be included in the brief report required below.
The Treasurer shall be a part of the Events Committee and shall assist the Events Chair on disclosure and campaign finance requirements that may be required of said event.
The Treasurer shall receive ALL contributions and receipts within 5 business days of receipt. Ideally, the Treasurer will work with the Sign In table crew to ensure membership dues are collected at the end of every General Membership meeting or event or no more than 5 business days thereafter.
The Treasurer shall work with the Membership Chair to determine, to the best of their ability the householded information for a dues member who pays $36 to ensure spousal/partner/SO voting privileges.
The treasurer shall provide to the Executive Board by the March meeting a draft budget for 2009 and 2010.
A prepared brief report of the officer’s previous month’s worth of activities and status updates on ‘to-do’s is due two days prior to the Executive Board meeting.
Who May Run: Voting members in good standing (paid membership dues at any time from the reorg meeting to no more than one year prior OR a current PCO).
Who May Vote on This Position: Any voting member in good standing may vote for this position.
