Official Job Description: The Vice-chair shall serve in the absence of the Chair. (Article VII, Section 1b of Bylaws).

Additional Responsibilities: As Chair of the Endorsements Committee, the Vice Chair shall run the endorsements process as well as take charge of the sample ballot process.  Specifically, the Vice Chair will be the primary scheduler for the endorsement interviews, secure venue location with the assistance of the Events Chair, solicit questions from the membership and the Executive Board to be asked during the interviews and work with the Communications and Technology chairs to disseminate the results of the endorsements to the membership and community at large.

The Vice Chair will create a sample ballot listing all of the district’s endorsements for the current election year for both the primary and general elections.  Further, the Vice Chair will seek sign off of the sample ballot with the Chair and the Vice Chair of Political Organizing before it is distributed to the PCOs for GOTV/doorbelling efforts.

The Vice Chair will also chair the Governance Committee.  The bylaws, as amended at the re-org meeting shall be reviewed by the Vice Chair and may be further amended if Vice Chair and Committee feel it necessary.  The amendments to the bylaws shall be presented to the Executive Board and full membership no later than the April meeting.

A prepared brief report of the officer’s previous month’s worth of activities and status updates on ‘to-do’s is due two days prior to the Executive Board meeting.

Who May Run: Only PCOs may run for this position and only candidates who are opposite sex of the newly elected Chair.

Who May Vote on This Position: Only PCOs may vote for this position.
