Official Job Description: The Chair shall serve as the executive officer of the organization. (Article VII, Section 1a of Bylaws).

Additional Responsibilities: The Chair shall propose the agenda of general membership and executive board meetings, may create ad hoc subcommittees and assign additional responsibilities not designated in the Bylaws. The Chair shall preside over the general membership and executive board meetings.  The Chair shall approve the sample ballot in concert with the Vice Chair of Political Organizing and the district Vice Chair and also approve the district newsletter in concert with the Communications Chair and at least one other E-board member before distribution. As a member of the Political Committee, the Chair shall attend Political Committee meetings and vote when appropriate.  The Chair may publish a Chair’s Code of Conduct as it relates to Chair voting if the Executive Board deems necessary.  The Chair or his or her designee shall also attend the King County Democrats Chairs and Officers and State Democratic Chairs’ meetings on behalf of the district.

A prepared report is due to the Executive Board and membership prior to the meeting and shall be posted on the website as a part of the district’s archives.
